Finished reading: Escape From Kathmandu by Kim Stanley Robinson ๐Ÿ“šA very silly book but I’m a completionist for KSR. If you have visited Kathmandu, then the descriptions of the city feel very true. Brought back good memories of a 1981 trip for me.

Finished reading: Anita de Monte Laughs Last by Xochitl Gonzalez ๐Ÿ“šA very fun summer read. A bit indulgent but in a direction that I have to appreciate. Also about artists, art history, and coming of age in the 2000s.

Currently reading: Sweet Taste of Liberty: A True Story of Slavery and Restitution in America by W. Caleb McDaniel ๐Ÿ“š

Finished reading: This Other Eden by Paul Harding ๐Ÿ“šAn excellent novel. There is child abuse, which normally means I stop reading a novel, but I can see that it was integral to the story and the overall message of the book is both beautiful and sad. A beautiful island Maine setting in early 1900s.

Finished reading: James by Percival Everett ๐Ÿ“šwonderful!! Huckleberry Finn from Jimโ€™s (Jamesโ€™) point of view, with such insight into the power of words, writing, and appearances, and the stupidity of bigotry.

Finished reading: A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab ๐Ÿ“šgood summer fantasy reading.

Finished reading: Last Lecture by Perfection Learning Corporation ๐Ÿ“šUgh. I mean, I’m sorry for the guy and his family that he died so young. But so much inflated self-importance.

Currently reading: My Favorite Thing Is Monsters Book Two by Emil Ferris ๐Ÿ“šI’m only about 10 pages in but this graphic novel is AMAZING. So beautiful. I loved Book One so am looking forward to reading Book Two. I plan to read it very slowly, admiring every page.
