Finished reading: Is a River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane 📚I loved this one. While it’s not Macfarlane’s best, even less-than-perfect Macfarlane is head and shoulders above everyone else. Another book in my summer theme of ascribing rights to non-humans.
Finished reading: Small Town, Big Oil by David W. Moore 📚How residents of a coastal NH town in the 1970s successfully fought a Onassis-funded oil refinery. And striking parallels between the awful governor of that time and Trump.
Finished reading: World Without Us by Alan Weisman 📚I didn’t finish this one but it’s definitely an interesting take on how the Earth would respond if all humans disappeared.
Finished reading: Spent by Alison Bechdel 📚Fun! Not quite as good as The Secret to Super Human Strength but still worth reading. Graphic novel.

Finished reading: Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree 📚Not quite as good as Legends & Lattes but I like these characters and the world-building so it wan enjoyable summer read.
Finished reading: Mina’s Matchbox by Yoko Ogawa 📚A gentle novel that has a lot to say. I want to read it again to further explore the symbolism in the story.
Finished reading: The Practice, the Horizon, and the Chain by Sofia Samatar 📚Such an interesting dystopian sci-fi novel. The Haves and the Have-nots portrayed in a brutal, thought-provoking way. I also liked The White Mosque by this author, a completely different book about Mennonites in E. Europe.
