Finished reading: Babel by R Huang๐Ÿ“šOK but not awesome. Boring characters but interesting world building with many lessons for our world.

Finished reading: Pirate Enlightenment, or the Real Libertalia by David Graeber ๐Ÿ“šenjoyed it but only because I am a Graeber completionist. It read like his notes, rather than an actual book.

Snow storm! SW New Hampshire, USA.

My small region of hill towns in New Hampshire is seeing over 30 inches (76 cm) of snow. Drop down a few 100 feet and those folks are seeing about 12 inches. Fun shoveling day tomorrow! But we are warm and dry, running the generator for an hour to heat everything up before bed.

Big storm, lotsa snow, no electricity. Fun times!

Finished reading: The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton ๐Ÿ“šFor dystopian, climate-disaster fiction, this was pretty good and not killingly depressing.

Finished reading: Thistlefoot by GennaRose Nethercott ๐Ÿ“šwhat a treat! Fun, deep, meaningful, imaginative and yet also a retelling of old tales. Highly recommended.

Finished reading: The Grand Tour by Patricia C. Wrede ๐Ÿ“šA very silly book but perfect bedtime reading. No suspense and thus conducive to falling asleep.

Really interesting opinion piece in the Washington Post today about a bi-partisan committee getting stuff done and the modern facilitation techniques that helped.

Nice blog post about “feeling about feeling” instead of thinking about feeling.
